  1. What is the Early Childhood Education Pre-Apprenticeship?

    The ECE Pre-Apprenticeship is a free opportunity aimed at helping High School & CTE students continue their education, help apply for funding to cover their CDA exam, and open the door to employment opportunities in early childhood education.

  2. Why get involved in the ECE Pre-Apprenticeship?

    Every Pre-Apprentice that completes the program is guaranteed an interview with the Early Childhood Education Apprenticeship Program to discuss further education goals. They will also have entry-level opportunities in the childcare industry and be connected with job outreach events and information.

  3. What is included?

    The Pre-Apprenticeship includes:
    - Connection to existing apprenticeship programs
    - Approved training & curriculum
    - Hands-on learning with a career focus
    - Opportunity to earn a recognized credential
    - Access to support & career counseling

  4. What are the benefits?

    We offer classroom and technology-based training, the opportunity to build the work-readiness skills that employers like to see, and pre-apprentices will qualify for and gain advanced standing with partnered apprenticeship programs.

  5. What is provided?

    Due to funding support, in the past we have provided CDA workbooks/kits, tablets, PENNAEYC memberships, scholarships for concurrent enrollment, and free CDA testing opportunities.

  6. Is there any cost to participate?

    The program is tuition free, including textbooks and the following supports (see your list under what we provide). Pre-Apprenticeship does not cover the cost of room and board.
