On Tuesday, Mar 14, Early Connections travelled to the Carpenter's Training Center in Pittsburgh, PA for the first annual ceremony for the PA Apprenticeship and Pre-Apprenticeship Awards. The awards for individuals are presented in recognition of leadership qualities, problem solving, motivation and willingness to learn skills. Sierra Peebles, was voted Outstanding Registered Apprentice for the State of Pennsylvania. Sierra is an employee of the YMCA of Greater Erie and completed her CDA Registered Apprenticeship through the NW Region ECE Apprenticeship Program administered by Early Connections, sponsored by the District 1199c and funded by the PASSHE PDO.
We are very proud of Sierra and her dedication to the field of ECE. She was given the opportunity to address attendees, including a crowd of apprentices from across the state of PA in various trade fields. Sierra so eloquently represented the field of ECE and advocated for students with disabilities to seek out accommodations and don't give up!
